Mercedes was already represented in the DTM with the first version of the C-Class in 1994. Between 2000 and 2003, Mercedes competed with the CLK, but switched back to the C-Class in 2004. The current model is the Mercedes AMG C 63 in the DTM version. For this racing car the start signal for its development was already given in 2015 and, with 70% new parts, Mercedes wanted to regain its rightful place on the throne of the DTM. The experienced driver Gary Paffet has already celebrated many successes with the C63 AMG, so in 2018 he also clinched overall victory in his C-Coupé with start number 2.
