Impressive not only in the Procar series
In 1980, one year after the brilliant start of the Procar series, GS-Tuning brought a sponsor on board, the hugely successful chemical company BASF, which gave the BMW M1 an ultra-stylish appearance with white spirals on a red background. The German racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck was at the front of the pack with the BMW M1 BASF. BMW created the Procar Series as a supporting programme for European Formula 1 races. Here, private drivers were able to compete against Formula-1 drivers in cars of equal value. The Procar series was held in the years 1979 and 1980 and was supposed to help the BMW M1 to achieve high sales figures in its street version. After the end of the series, the BMW M1 Procar was used in other racing series such as LeMans, partly with some modifications. With this extraordinary design, the BMW would still be the first choice today!
A racing legend as a red speedster
The Carrera car corresponds to the original with which the famous racing driver Hans-Joachim Struck once completed his laps. The colour scheme, in which the main sponsor comes to the fore, is also striking. But it’s not just its extraordinary design, but also the functioning headlights, rear and brake lights as well as the individual adjustability of the vehicle by means of coding that make this slot car a real winner.
